Little House on the Prairie Casting

How many re-makes of past TV shows and movies can we possibly handle? Well, mothers of little child stars here your chance to enter your child in the remake of Little House on the Prairie. The show is an adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder's best-selling series of Little House books.

Prepare

Were searching for the next
Laura Ingalls

LEAD. Female, 10-13 years old, the smart and spirited middle child of Charles and Caroline Ingalls. Laura is a tomboy and adventure seeker living in the Prairie Lands in 1870. Laura is the type of girl who marches to the beat of her own drum and prefers the outdoors to reading and homework. She has a close relationship with her family and clearly loves her "Pa" and older sister Mary. When her family moves from their home in the Big Woods of Wisconsin to Independence, Kansas, she embraces the adventures she encounters on their journey. Life is not easy, but Laura rises to the challenge...

u don’t have to speak to communicate. You still communicate, even when you listen.

Other notes

Remember, LAURA is a strong willed girl with a good head on her shoulders.
In the AUDITION SCENE (sides), there are two lines where she speaks in French. Go ahead and attempt a French translation if you can! It should NOT be perfect, since she is just learning from a book.

2) PREPARE THE AUDITION SPACE

Find a quiet room that has very little to no background noises. Noises to watch for are running refrigerators, TVs, telephones, computer fans, running water, traffic, etc... The quieter it is, the better.
The wall you stand in front of should ideally be White or Blue. A clean wall is best without doorways, pictures, etc.
If you can, stand near or about one foot away from the wall to avoid distracting shadows on the wall. A great idea is to mark your spot on the floor with a piece of tape or even a book. (This is called your Mark) This will give you a consistent spot to stand and adjust your lighting, camera, and sound.

3) CAMERA AND LIGHTING

After setting up your camera, preferably on a tripod, make sure you are lit well. The viewer needs to be able to see you clearly. You want to make sure your eyes are seen very well. Do not stand with a sunlit window behind you or your face will be in shadow.
Lighting sources can be table top lamps, floor lamps, window light, flood light, or whatever you might have to SAFELY light your scene. Record yourself briefly and then play the tape back and be very critical about the lighting. If it does not look the greatest, then adjust your lighting and try again. Lighting and sound are two very important areas to make sure you are very particular about.

Ideal Camera Settings

Most modern cameras, smartphones and tablets come with both HD and SD settings. Make sure the HD setting is selected.

1) WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Be yourself

We want you to be yourself! We are not looking for someone to "act" this. We don’t want this to sound fake or phony, it should be in your own voice.
Take your time. Keep it real, natural. Make sure you understand who Laura Ingalls is. What is going on in the scene? What is her objective? We want to make sure you understand WHY you are saying what you’re saying. If you can bring that knowledge to who you are, you’ll be great.

Make it come alive

Keep your head up as much as possible. Do not keep your head down in the page. Do not stand and just read the lines. Make it come alive. Memorizing is not enough.
Don’t Forget Listening! Don’t just say your lines and check out. Make sure you listen and take in what the other character is saying and what it means to you. How does it make you feel? How does it affect you? YoLITTLE House on the Prairie is getting a big screen revamp.

The story of the Ingalls family in the 19th Century US West will be turned into a movie by Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green.

Lady Gaga has marked herself as the Mother Monster of an artist fartist pop era, She's completely transformed herself into this over-the-top persona that has actually worked into putting herself as a music icon (think Michael Jackson meets Marilyn Manson.) That’s not to say her music sucks, and she’s racked up five Grammys to prove it – For her highly conceptual third album ARTPOP (2013), the ever-theatrical Gaga explores the notion that she can’t exist without the adoration of her fans. From the ‘80s-inspired technopop of lead single “Applause" to the chugging electro of “Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)”, it’s clear that Lady Gaga has an incredible talent for songwriting.

"No one puts her heart and soul into a performance quite like Gaga does. She is the epitomize of a true performer who has a way of captivating the audience like no other. Her hour long set was full of energy, humor, sexiness and raw talent. Gaga's vocals are more incredible than ever. Being a NYC girl herself who waited in lines for hours to see her favorite bands gives Gaga the advantage of having a real connection with her fans. Loved every single minute of this incredible show!!"

"The energy Gaga generates is amazing. The crowd went wild throughout the entire show. She is the most talented, hardest working, highly intelligent and giving artist today. There is no one like her. It was a beautifully put together show, and her enthusiasm and musicality never waned for one moment. I loved this show so much! Her band and dancers are fabulous!"

Jimmy Buffett LIVE - April 26

Jimmy Buffett LIVE - April 26

The 67-year-old Jimmy Buffett who often refers to his music as Drunken Caribbean Rock 'n Roll as he says on his 1978 Live Album "You Had To Be There". Later, Buffett himself and others decided to try and sophisticate  the term gulf and western to describe his musical style and that of other similar sounding performers. Don't be fooled it's still good old drunken Caribbean Rock 'n Roll music.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will play Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach at as part of his "Songs From St. Somewhere Tour. The new album, with 15 new songs plus a bonus track, was recorded last spring in various locales, including Key West, Nashville, Miami, St. Barts and London.

His first single is a duet with Toby Keith titled "Too Drunk To Karaoke," and that news alone puts to rest any fears Parrotheads might have had of Mr. Buffett feeling a need to get serious in his old age.

COUNTING CROWS WITH TOAD THE WET SPROCKET

COUNTING CROWS
WITH TOAD THE WET SPROCKET
JUNE 12

Show Start Time: 7:30PM
Doors Open Time: 6:30PM
Ticket Price: $39 / $49 / $59
Counting Crows perform at Hard Rock Live With Toad the Wet Sprocket on June 12th at 7:30PM.

Counting Crows, and Adam Duritz in particular, have become renowned for the energetic, passionate nature of their live performances. Duritz frequently extends and rewrites songs live, adding extra verses or alternate middle sections and/or endings, sometimes fitting most of another of the band's other songs into the middle of the first. On a live performance on Howard Stern's Sirius broadcast radio show, he delivered an altered version of "'Round Here" that Stern said was one of the best performances in his studio he had ever heard, with anchor Robin Quivers agreeing. He often uses other artists' lyrics in these sections as well, ranging from well-known acts, such as Bruce SpringsteenVan Morrison and George Gershwin, to obscure Bay Area bands, including revisiting material from his days working with Sordid Humor.
What made Counting Crows unique was how they were able to balance Duritz's tortured lyrics with the sound of the late '60s and early '70s; it made them one of the few alternative bands to appeal to listeners who thought that rock & roll died in 1972.

Katy Perry in Miami

Guess who has been spotted in Miami this week? Katy Perry decided to take a mini-vacation here in Miami this week after the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam. People always seem appalled when a celebrity downplays their image. Maybe, Katy Perry is taking a vacation from being Katy Perry. Can you imagination how exhausting it would be to be picture perfect all the time?

The "Roar" singer was spotted on a balcony and relaxing on the beach with friends in Miami, yesterday. Unfortunately, Katy can't enjoy a cup of joe in the morning without reports insinuating 'it's lonely at the top.'  Hell, how do you look in the morning?

But, while in Miami Katy Perry has released the official video for "Unconditionally" and her Tour dates on Twitter, she declared: "#THEPRISMATICWORLDTOUR is coming May 2014! First stop: UK! Tix on sale FRIDAY, 11/22 at http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk
